Wayne Earle Community Service Award
Wayne Earle served as a member of the Community Council of Lanse au Loup for eighteen years. During that period, he served as a councillor, mayor and a member of the Municipal Assessment Agency. As a longstanding member of the municipality he demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative and commitment in each of his roles and carried a pride and passion for all matters concerning his community.
Wayne's was a strong advocate of regional cooperation and believed in an individual's ability to make a difference when responding to community needs. He devoted his time, support and energy to many facets of the community, including municipal leadership, recreational programming and community economic development. Wayne's community spirit and commitment to serve the municipality has left a significant and positive impact on residents, business and organizations.
Introducing the Wayne Earle Community Service Award. The Community Service Award has been established to commemorate the years of service and commitment of Wayne Earle to municipal development. All elected Municipal Councilors will be eligible for nomination. The award will be presented annually at the Combined Councils of Labrador Annual General Meeting. The first of which will be at the Annual General Meeting to be held in the community of Port Hope Simpson in January 2008.
Eligible individuals must have demonstrated a long term commitment to municipal council and have helped implement social and economic development opportunities in their community.
